Oldham Will Face Super League Clash after Victory over Halifax

Halifax 6 OLDHAM 27 OLDHAM will play Betfred Super League opposition in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup after securing a 27-6 away victory over Halifax in last night's rescheduled fixture.

The match was postponed on Sunday because of snow and with one eye on their trip to Toulouse at the weekend, Fax coach Richard Marshall opted to rest a number of first-team regulars against Roughyeds.

And it was Scott Naylor's League 1 side that started much the stronger, opening the scoring through Danny Langtree after 10 minutes and extending the half-time lead to 12-0 with a Ben West try and Paul Crook penalty.

The ex-Rochdale man added another penalty after the break, before being sent to the sin bin - during which time the home side crossed for their only try.

When back to their full complement, Roughyeds sealed the deal through West's second, a try for Crook and a Dave Hewitt drop-goal. …
