(Austin-Bombings)

Anxiety levels are still running high in Austin, Texas where investigators pursuing a suspected serial bomber faced new threats while getting possible new leads.

Investigators' attention shifted Tuesday to a FedEx shipping centre near San Antonio where a package exploded, and then the discovery of another, unexploded bomb near Austin's airport.

They're poring through surveillance video hoping to find whoever is behind the series of blasts that have killed two people and seriously wounded four.

Then a scare Tuesday night sent investigators to an Austin Goodwill store in what turned out to be an unrelated explosion.

Someone had dropped off a device sometimes used in military training and it went off, injuring a worker.(1)

(Australia-Cocaine-Cruise)

A Canadian woman has told an Australian court that her only role in a plot to smuggle 16-million dollars' worth of cocaine into Sydney was to make the luxury cruise-ship operation look like she was simply on vacation.

Three Quebecers have pleaded guilty in New South Wales to smuggling 95 kilos of cocaine in their luggage in a seven-week cruise in 2016 from Britain to Ireland, the U-S, Bermuda, several South American nations and then Australia.

Twenty-four-year-old Melina Roberge was in court Wednesday for a sentencing hearing and will have her actual sentencing date set next week.

Isaballe Lagace was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison, and Andre Tamine will be sentenced in October.(1)

(Ont-Autistic-Man-Attacked)

Police west of Toronto have identified one of the three suspects in last week's assault on a 29-year-old autistic man at a Mississauga bus terminal.

Video shows the man sitting on a stairwell putting on roller-blades when three young men approached from behind and punched and kicked him, leaving him with a broken nose.

Peel Region police say "overwhelming tips from the community" led them to identify one suspect as 25-year-old Ronjot Singh Dhami of no fixed address, but whose last known address was in Surrey, B-C. …
