FAMILY DOLLAR AT MCKEES ROCKS PLAZA HIT WITH CONSUMER ALERT

A Family Dollar store at the McKees Rocks Plaza in McKees Rocks was hit with a consumer alert by the Allegheny County Health Department because of a mouse infestation. Mouse droppings were found throughout the store, including in the storage area and on shelves in the potato chip, bagged candy and cereal aisles. Nesting material and chewed products also were found on the shelves, according to the inspection report, which indicated that the inspection was triggered by a complaint. The store also was cited by the health department for a mouse problem during three inspections in February, but no consumer alerts were issued. The manager of the store declined comment Friday.
