Iran nuclear deal a mistake, Israeli spy chief warns

The head of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency is "100 percent certain" that Iran remains committed to developing a nuclear bomb and believes the world's other nations must change their nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic.

Yossi Cohen, who leads the spy agency, has been holding discussions about the Iranian nuclear program and delivered his assessment in a recent closed meeting with senior officials, according to a person who attended the meeting. Cohen called the nuclear deal a "terrible mistake," saying it allows Iran to keep key elements of its nuclear program intact.

Russia no longer part of search for missing sub - Argentina's navy says Russia has ended its help in the search for an Argentine submarine that disappeared in the South Atlantic with 44 crew members aboard.

Russia was the last of more than a dozen foreign countries that assisted in searching some 1,500 square miles of the South Atlantic for the ARA San Juan. An explosion occurred near the time and place where the sub went missing on Nov. 15. Argentina has given up hope of finding survivors, but the navy has continued searching for the vessel.

Haley wants U.N. to step up efforts against chemical weapons - U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned Wednesday that the U.N.'s failure to hold Syria accountable for its use of chemical weapons because of Russia's opposition had made the world "a far more dangerous place."

She told the Security Council that its lack of action on Syria had led others to take notice, pointing to the use of nerve agents against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's half-brother in Malaysia and the poisoning of a former spy and his daughter in England.

She urged a renewed commitment by the Security Council to end the use of chemical weapons. The council met on the first anniversary of a chemical attack on a Syrian rebel-held town that killed about 100 people.
