HALIFAX. x-09s. Nova Scotia's new rules for recreational cannabis call for fines as high as 10-thousand dollars for illegal marijuana sales.

Anyone caught selling pot to someone under 19 could also face a 10-thousand-dollar fine.

Justice Minister Mark Furey says the province will harmonize its penalties for alcohol and cannabis misuse.

He says the new law is also clear about the status of illegal dispensaries.
