(CTV-Suit)

Former C-T-V News reporter Paul Bliss is suing the broadcaster, its parent company and a woman who levelled sexual misconduct accusations against him.

Bliss, who worked at the Queen's Park bureau, was suspended in January before C-T-V announced his departure last month.

Bliss alleges Bridget Brown defamed him, and C-T-V then published and broadcast defamatory statements in its coverage of the woman's allegations and Bliss's suspension.

Bliss is seeking 7.5 million dollars in damages and says in his statement of claim that he and Brown had engaged in a consensual encounter. (The Canadian Press)

DEBRA Canada, an organization that supports families dealing with E-B, called Pitre their "beloved ambassador."

Tributes also came from the Ottawa Senators, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson, who called Pitre one of the bravest people he ever met. (The Canadian Press)
