PEP Guardiola has been charged by Uefa after being sent to the stands in City's home defeat by Liverpool.

The Blues boss reacted angrily to the wrongful disallowing of a Leroy Sane goal just before half-time.

And as he confronted Antonio Lahoz at the whistle, the Spanish official dismissed him, and Guardiola had to spend the secondhalf in the stands. Uefa has now made that into a formal charge and Guardiola could face a touchline ban in next season's competition.

But the disciplinary matters against Liverpool keep piling up as they have been hit with two more offences. The 3,000 Liverpool fans let off pyrotechnics and threw objects, and with either the referee or match delegate including the problems in their reports, Uefa has acted. That follows on from Liverpool's four charges - for setting off fireworks, throwing objects, acts of damage and crowd disturbances - from the first leg six days earlier. …
