Gabby Barrett Donating 'Idol' Outfit as Goodwill Fundraiser

This is no simple gesture of Goodwill.

Country singer and Munhall native Gabby Barrett is donating to Goodwill a white crochet-lace jumpsuit she wore while performing on a recent episode of "American Idol." An online auction began Tuesday.

"American Idol" has featured her more than once with her father, Blase, who works for Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania's housing services.

"Obviously, Goodwill is near and dear to his heart," said David M. Tobiczyk, vice president for marketing and development. "One of the things she did was take a tour here [last fall] and meet some of the people we serve.

"She was impressed. And along the way, she donated the jumpsuit. It's actually in our West Mifflin store right now."

Ms. Barrett, 18, next will be appearing in the live episodes, which begin in a couple of weeks. …
