BC02 - (Church-Housing)

COQUITLAM, B.C. x-22s. The B-C government announced today a partnership aimed at creating more affordable housing in the province. The B-C branch of the United Church of Canada is planning to build 400 units at four of its properties, beginning in Coquitlam. Premier John Horgan says the province will spend 12.4 million dollars to help get the projects through the permitting and planning process.

TAG: The new units will be rentals, and designed for middle-income households. Horgan says the church will retain ownership of the property and will also fund its development.
