The Quebec government says it is facing even more asylum-seekers entering the province from the United States this year and is asking the federal government for help. Immigration Minister David Heurtel says the feds need a plan to accommodate what is expected to be a rise in the number of crossing this year to 400 a day this summer according to some forecasts. The Quebec government says it is facing even more asylum-seekers entering the province from the United States this year and is asking the federal government for a plan to deal with the influx. Immigration Minister David Heurtel says 2018 is being forecast to be even busier than last summer, with as many as 400 crossings daily. He's going to Ottawa on Wednesday to address the issue, which seems to involve deliberate move by many asylum seekers to enter Canada quickly after arriving in the U-S. ("..Quebec, through Roxham.")
