P13 - (Pharmacare-Report) OTTAWA. x-16s. A parliamentary committee is recommending that prescription medications be publicly funded across Canada under a universal pharmacare program. And one N-D-P committee member says the Trudeau government now has no excuse not to act to bring in a national pharmacare program. TAG: The chair of the committee, Liberal Bill Casey, says there are 80 different plans across the country and they do not pool their buying power. But Conservative vice-chair Marilyn Gladu says some figures show the plan could cost 40 billion dollars a year and questions have to be asked about how to pay for that. …
