VANCOUVER. x-21s. Vancouver lawyer Shea Coulson says today's ruling from the Supreme Court of Canada on interprovincial trade is "helpful" for his clients. Coulson represented five B-C wineries that had intervener status in the case involving a man who was fined for buying liquor in another province and bringing it back to his New Brunswick home. While the ruling restores the fine and upholds Canada's current trade laws, Coulson says it also seeks to limit provinces trying to use tariffs to punish other provinces or protect local industries.
