New Chief Tech Officer Leaves Port Authority

A week after hiring its first chief information officer, Port Authority is looking to fill the position again.

Edward J. Motznik began the $170,000-a-year job April 16. On Thursday, CEO Katharine Eagan Kelleman introduced Mr. Motznik to authority board members during public committee meetings.

By the end of the day Friday, Mr. Motznik told Ms. Kelleman he was quitting to return to his former job as vice president of technology at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.

"We wish him well," Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said in an email Monday.

Mr. Motznik, brother of Brookline District Judge James A. Motznik, has been in charge of technology at Carnegie Museums since 2014. He previously was director of information technology for IPEG, a manufacturing company in Cranberry.

"Other than confirming that Ed Motznik is returning this Wednesday as Carnegie Museums' VP of Technology, we can't make additional comment on personnel issues," Betsy Momich, director of corporate communications for the organization, said in an email. …
