Machete-Wielding Thugs in Raid on Food Store

Article excerpt

MASKED thugs armed with a machete and a screwdriver stormed a south Manchester shop before stealing cash, cigarettes and alcohol.

Three men - who had their faces covered - walked into Co-op Food, in Whalley Range, carrying weapons on Wednesday night.

The gang then fled the Withington Road store in a blue car, heading towards College Road at around 6.45pm.

Witnesses report seeing forensics vans and police outside.

GMP are urging anyone with information to get in touch. …
