Hounds down Cantonniers to win battle of undefeated teams at Telus Cup

SUDBURY, Ont. - Nolan Renwick had a goal and an assist and Aaron Randazzo made 27 saves to help the Notre Dame Hounds maintain their perfect record with a 4-2 win over the Cantonniers de Magog in Telus Cup preliminary-round action Wednesday.

The game pitted the last two remaining undefeated teams against each other, but Zach Plucinski's power-play marker in third period left the Hounds (3-0-0) alone atop the standings.

Quinn Schmiemann and Coalson Wolford also found of the back of the net for Notre Dame.

The Cantonniers (2-1-0) got goals from Zachary Cadorette and Charles Beaudoin, who both added an assist each.

Olivier Adam made 29 saves in the loss for the Cantonniers.

Notre Dame went 2 for 4 on the power play, while Magog was 1 for 4.

In other action at the Telus Cup, the Toronto Young Nationals scored a trifecta of third-period goals to earn a 3-3 tie with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Cole Burtch and Noah Beck both had a goal and an assist, while Markus Paterson also scored for Toronto (0-2-1). …
