(Talks-NAFTA)

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland and Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo aren't sure if a prolonged round of NAFTA talks in Washington will run into the weekend.

There's some pressure to get some sort of agreement soon, before a deadline passes for presenting a deal to the U-S Congress and getting it voted on this year.

Freeland and Guajardo say there are still a number of outstanding issues. (9)

(W7-Summit-Wraps)

The first W-7 summit ends in Ottawa today with more than 60 women reaching consensus on issues they believe should be priorities for G-7 leaders.

The group says it has many nuanced ideas to address gender discrimination and inequality and that its final recommendations will be delivered to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the G-7 gender advisory council in May.

But some women involved in the three-day meeting are skeptical Trudeau will act on their final recommendations or champion their ideas at the G-7 meeting in June. (9)
