WINNIPEG. x-13s. Two recent opinion polls suggest the Manitoba government continues to enjoy voter support despite its fiscal restraint and changes to health care. A poll by Mainstreet Research suggests the governing Progressive Conservatives had the support of 45 per cent of decided or leaning voters compared with 30 per cent for the N-D-P and 13 per cent for the Liberals. The numbers are similar to a poll released earlier this week by Probe Research, which pegged Tory support at 44 per cent, the N-D-P at 28 per cent and the Liberals at 19. Political analyst Paul Thomas at the University of Manitoba says public opinion seems to have changed little since the 2016 election.
