Guardiola Not Bothered about Prize for Manager of the Year

PEP Guardiola would have no complaints if Rafa Benitez or Sean Dyche beat him to be named Manager of the Year.

The City boss is well placed to scoop the end-of-year award as his team look set to win the Premier League title with more points, wins and goals than anybody has ever managed before.

But no Blues coach has ever claimed the prize - Roberto Mancini was beaten by Newcastle's Alan Pardew when he clinched the title in 2012 and Crystal Palace's Tony Pulis took the honour in 2014 when Manuel Pellegrini won the league.

Guardiola, not the biggest fan of individual awards in the game, picked out two of his colleagues when asked for his thoughts on this season's subject.

"Of course, the teams for the players who are nominated to win have more chance," he said. …
