The Place: South Side Works Cinema, Thursday night.

The Purpose: To celebrate the opening of the 25th annual JFilm Festival with the Pittsburgh premiere of a Jewish baseball film, "Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel."

The Party: Jonathan Mayo, who appeared in the film, attended the Pop-Up party across the street at the former BCBG space. The party was catered by Black Radish and along with libations, cake and cookies as well as sandwiches and savories were served. "This is what community looks like," said Kathryn Spitz Cohan, executive director, as she looked around at the 345 supporters who attended opening night.
