BC05 - (Oyster-Outbreak)

VANCOUVER. x-09s. B-C's oyster farmers are expecting a financial hit with the latest outbreak of norovirus linked to oysters from Baynes Sound off Vancouver Island. The Public Health Agency of Canada says 172 people have reported getting the gastrointestinal illness that causes vomiting and diarrhea. Darlene Winterburn with the B-C Shellfish Growers Association says the incident points to ocean pollution, because the virus stems from human waste.
