Car Fleeing St. Louis Police Crashes, Killing Man in Second Vehicle

ST. LOUIS - A car fleeing St. Louis police officers crashed into another vehicle Monday, killing a man in the second car.

St. Louis police officers spotted a black Chrysler 300 that was "possibly wanted" in connection with a homicide and tried to pull the car over about noon Monday, police said.

The vehicle pulled to the curb, but before officers could talk to the people inside the car, it sped off eastbound on Maffitt Avenue, running a stop sign and crashing into another vehicle that was headed south on Bishop P.L. Scott Avenue.

Three people were inside the second vehicle. One of the victims, a man, was thrown from the car and killed. Two other passengers were taken to hospitals, police said. Their injuries and conditions were not available.
