ITCHY eyes? Nose running? If you suffer from hayfever you can probably already tell, but the pollen count in Greater Manchester is up.

And the bad news is it's set to be high for much of the rest of the week. It comes after Britain basked in the hottest early May Bank Holiday Monday on record - with temperatures in our region topping 25c in parts.

But the glorious weather comes with a downside for those with allergies. Despite temperatures in Greater Manchester falling, forecasters say the pollen count is likely to be high on Wednesday and Friday and moderate today Thursday, and Saturday.

A Met Office spokeswoman said: "Ninety five per cent of the population are allergic to some extent to grass pollen, and we're just coming into the grass pollen season." NHS England North tweeted the following dos and don'ts: Do ? …
