(Sask-School-Shooting)

A young man who killed four people and injured seven others in a shooting in northern Saskatchewan has been sentenced to life in prison.

The shooter, who was weeks away from his 18th birthday when he shot up a home and a school in 2016, won't be eligible for parole for 10 years.

Judge Janet McIvor called the shootings in La Loche (losh) "senseless" and "coldly horrific" and said the system has abandoned the survivors.

The young man, who is now 20, was sentenced as an adult but can't be named until his appeal options are exhausted. (The Canadian Press)

The project would triple the capacity of the existing Trans Mountain pipeline between Edmonton and Burnaby, B-C.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau interrupted a foreign trip to meet with the premiers of B-C and Alberta over the matter, then dispatched Finance Minister Bill Morneau to come to a financial agreement with Kinder Morgan. (The Canadian Press)
