THERE is no word more fitting for Yaya Toure's contribution to City than 'legend', according to chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

The veteran midfielder is leaving the Etihad after eight memorable seasons at the Etihad that have seen three Premier League titles the highlight of an impressive trophy haul.

Toure will be permanently remembered in Manchester in the form of a mosaic at the training ground, as well as having one of the pitches named after him.

He was also given a lifetime season ticket at the end of his final home match on Wednesday night.

Vincent Kompany spoke on the pitch to thank Toure for his contributions to the club, and chairman Al Mubarak has also released a statement to make it clear how much the Ivorian has been appreciated.

"Yaya Toure is a very special footballer and the importance of his contribution to Manchester City Football Club is indisputable," he said. …
