Return of Evalds Big Boost for Devils

NIALL Evalds, Mark Flanagan and Lee Mossop all return to the Salford squad for tonight's Challenge Cup clash with Leigh - but Rob Lui remains sidelined with a calf injury.

The Red Devils reached the semi-finals of last year's competition - the club's best progress in 20 years - but coach Ian Watson hopes to improve on that this time round.

"We're attacking it the same way we did last year, when we got to the semi-finals. We want to taste that experience again and maybe go one further," he said.

The return of Evalds from concussion is a big boost for Salford, while co-captains Flanagan and Mossop also missed the Super League defeat to Wigan last time out.

Gavin Bennion, Levy Nzoungou, Ryan Lannon and Luke Burgess drop out of the 19-man squad.

After a poor start to the season, Leigh are fighting their way back into qualifiers contention, winning their past nine games in all competitions under caretaker coach Kieron Purtill. …
