The Gateway High School stadium will be getting a new $300,000 scoreboard for the 2018-19 school year.

School directors voted 7-2 to purchase the scoreboard from OES Inc. Board members Jack Bova and Rick McIntyre voted against the purchase.

The new scoreboard will have video capabilities for replays or commercials and space for advertisements.The district had to purchase the scoreboard by May 31 for it to be installed and working properly before the beginning of the fall sports season. Funds for the scoreboard are coming from the 2018-19 capital reserve fund budget.

Facilities director Robert Brown said the existing scoreboard is about 16 years old and his crews have been patching it together for the past few years to keep it running.Mr. …
