Q - I've been looking for a Paulownia tree for quite a while. My niece has one in her yard, and it is quite beautiful. I have ordered some online, and they just come as dried up sticks and no one will refund the money. Do you know of somewhere fairly close to St. Louis where I could go pick up one maybe from 4 to 8 feet tall?

A - Sorry, but I can't recall seeing it for sale at a local nursery. That's not without good reason, as in spite of its other attributes, it can be very weedy. It's also considered to be an exotic invasive species in many states in the eastern and southeastern U.S., particularly those through which the Appalachian mountain range stretches, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
