ST. LOUIS - It looked like a giant spider overlord had sinister plans for our fair city last night -- well, for a few minutes at least.

St. Louis TV station KMOV posted on Facebook just after 7 p.m. Thursday that a (normal sized) spider was camped out smack dab in front of its BJC HealthCare Skycam shot of the Gateway Arch.

From the perspective of the camera, however, it seemed like a colossal spider had spun a web right in the middle of the Arch, perhaps lying in wait to feast on Cardinals fans and toasted raviolis.

The station went live on Facebook with the shot. Hundreds tuned in to watch the spider dangling and bouncing in the wind, appearing to loom over St. Louis.

"It's like an old B movie where they try to add the monster in later but it ends up all fuzzy and distorted," one Facebook user wrote. …
