A WOMAN had to be taken to hospital after a car collided with a bus.

Emergency services were called to Wilbraham Road in Chorlton after the accident.

The road was closed near its junction with Egerton Road for several hours.

Images shared on social media show the damage to the Stagecoach number 85 bus, which runs between Chorlton and Manchester city centre.

It's understood no one on board was injured.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said a woman who had been in the car was 'walked clear' of the vehicle by firefighters.

She was conscious and breathing, and treated at the scene by the North West Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital.
