FLORISSANT > Dog attack sends three to hospital - A dog attacked its own family of four Monday, sending three people to the hospital to be treated for their wounds.

One adult and two teens, ages 16 and 13, were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening wounds to their legs and forearms after the dog attacked them at 6:35 p.m. Monday in their home in the 1500 block of Loveland Drive, said Officer Steve Michael.

Family identified the animal to police as a pit bull. Animal control called it a pit bull-American bulldog mix.

When officers arrived, the family had the dog confined to a room. They told police they had owned the dog for about two to three months, Michael said.
