IT is good to see Manchester Cathedral and St Ann's Church at the heart of our commemorations as we remember the tragic events of one year ago.

Our churches will come together again next Monday, May 28, for the annual Manchester and Salford Whit Walks.

Dating back to 1801, this wonderful tradition provides an annual opportunity for churches from both cities to celebrate their faith and their contribution to our rich community life.

This year marks a historic development as both Church of England and Roman Catholic parishes will be walking together for the first time. This Ecumenical Witness is reflected in the presence of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Salford and the Anglican Bishop of Middleton. …
