Dancer Has All Right Moves to Be Crowned World Champ

AN Irish-dancing accountant has finally won the World Championships after decades of training and years of coming in the top 10.

Jess Hindley qualified to be in the top one per cent of Irish dancers to compete at the championships against 108 others in her age group in Glasgow. The 25-year-old, from Bury, trained six times a week for the competition while studying to become a chartered accountant at KPMG.

Jess said: "Everyone is happy and relieved because it's taken so long. My parents have put quite a lot of time and money into it, so it was a team effort.

"I cried for about half-an-hour straight. I was over the moon and couldn't believe it happened.

"It's something I worked my entire life for and I'm relieved that I had finally done it because people usually retire around my age."

Jess was encouraged by her parents to go to Irish dancing lessons with her two sisters at the Lally School in Manchester. …
