Don't tell anyone about Two Mile Run County Park. The summer RV crowds have yet to discover the sleepy valley a short drive north of Franklin, fewer than two hours north of Pittsburgh. Well-managed by Venango County, the 2,695-acre park includes a rentable five-person cottage, 10-person farmhouse and nine pavilions. Seventy-two secluded campsites range from full hookup to walk-in only with modern plumbing in the restrooms and showers. Nightly and weekly rates are generally lower than fees at national, state and commercial parks. Pets are permitted in campsites but must be on a leash at all times. With the exception of five lakefront walk-in sites, no reservations are taken. …
