N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath says people are becoming excited by the fact that they don't have to settle for either of the two parties that have led the province since 1995.

Horwath's campaign has been buoyed by polls that now suggest her party has jumped into the top spot in voter preferences, with less than two weeks to go before the June 7th election.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says she's not giving up, despite lagging in the polls, adding that her Liberal government has helped ensure strong business, a strong economy and a fairer society.

P-C Leader Doug Ford, who took over the party after Patrick Brown resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct, says he pays no attention to polls. (The Canadian Press)

(Mississauga-Explosion)

Peel Region's police chief says the force is putting a lot of resources into the hunt for two suspects believed to be behind an explosion that injured 15 people at an Indian restaurant west of Toronto.

Jennifer Evans says the blast at the Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga is believed to be an isolated incident, not a hate crime or an act of terrorism.

Three of those injured -- a 35-year-old Brampton man and two Mississauga women aged 48 and 62 -- were originally listed in critical condition but Evans says they have since been upgraded to stable.

She says the other 12 victims have been treated and released. (The Canadian Press)

(Ottawa-Assault)

Ottawa police say a 59-year-old woman has died after in hospital after being assaulted while working at a Christian Science reading room in the city's downtown.

Constable Alain Boucher says it's believed the attack took place between 10 a-m and noon yesterday, when the woman was the only person on duty in the reading room.

Police say they are not identifying the victim until the next of kin can be notified.

Investigators want to speak with anyone who may have interacted with the victim yesterday or in the days prior. …
