A FIERCE comeback in the late stages of the meeting saw the Belle Vue Aces complete a very productive Bank Holiday Monday doubleheader against Leicester, despite going down 47-43 at Beaumont Park last night.

With Craig Cook out due to illness, the Rentruck Aces operated the rider replacement facility at No.1 but it was completely different kettle of fish to their afternoon 62-28 victory in Manchester.

The Watling JCB Lions were determined to bounce back from such a battering and quickly repaid the visitors with a succession of harsh blows that put them 12 points down after five heats.
