JOEL Pereira wants to go out on loan after making just one first-team appearance for United last season, according to sources close to the goalkeeper.

The 21-year-old came on as a late substitute in the 4-1 win against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup back in September and made 18 match-day squads last season.

But the Portugal under-21 international has found game time hard to come by with both Sergio Romero and David de Gea ahead of him in the pecking order.

M.E.N. Sport understands that United would be open to letting Pereira go out on loan, with clubs from Serie A and La Liga having shown an interest, and the player has no desire to leave permanently.

Pereira only signed a new fouryear contract last summer, with the option of a further 12 months, and Jose Mourinho has previously described his compatriot as the 'best Portuguese 'keeper of the next generation'. …
