'Persistent' Burglar Is Jailed after Guilty Plea

A 'PERSISTENT' burglar who targeted homes across Oldham has been jailed.

Michael Berry, 22, went to 'great lengths' to conceal his crimes and believed he was 'untouchable', according to police.

But he's now behind bars serving a three-year sentence after he pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to four counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.

Berry, of no fixed address, stole a camcorder and a printer from a house on Godson Street, Oldham, on July 2, 2016, and a BMW from an address on Milberry Drive in Rochdale two months later.

Berry returned to Oldham to steal jewellery, a mobile phone, a digital camera and a baseball cap from a house in Kingsway Close on January 10, then handbags worth £1,800 and jewellery worth £1,700 from a house on Denbydale Way, Royton, the same day. …
