Tragic Taxi Firm Boss Dies in House Fire

A MAN who died in a house fire in Bury has been named as taxi firm boss David Herricks.

The Magnum Whiteline owner, understood to be in his 50s, was found dead a home on Dumers Lane in Radcliffe in the early hours of yesterday.

He was the only person at the house when the fire started.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the blaze at an end terrace property at around 12.39am.

The fire began in the living room. The cause is not yet known. Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances.

Firefighters remained at the scene for almost two hours.

Crews from Bury, Whitefield and Broughton stations in specialist breathing gear tackled the flames. One of Mr Herricks' neighbours said: "Nobody really knew the guy very well around here. I think he only moved in recently. …
