SOKRATIS Papastathopoulos turned down an approach from United to join Arsenal, according to the Borussia Dortmund defender's father. The Greece international looks set to become Arsenal's second signing of the Unai Emery era after being headhunted by the club's head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, who previously worked with him at Dortmund. Sokratis is entering the final year of his contract at the Westfalenstadion, so Arsenal view the 29-year-old as a fairly risk-free signing in the post- Neymar market.
