Wnba's Walker-Kimbrough Searching for More Playing Time Hempfield Graduate Breaking New Ground in Pole Vaulting

Christian Fedko, a freshman at the University of Connecticut, hit his first collegiate home run in the eighth inning this past Sunday as Connecticut defeated Coastal Carolina, 6-5, in an NCAA regional game. Connecticut then lost the next game to Washington, 9-6, in a regional final. Fedko, a former standout at Vincentian, hit .255 this season and was the American Athlete Conference Rookie Position Player of the Year.

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough continues to try and find a way for more minutes in her second season with the WNBA's Washington Mystics. Walker-Kimbrough, a former star at Hopewell High who was the Post-Gazette Athlete of the Year, is averaging 10 minutes a game. She is averaging 3.9 points and 1.9 rebounds, but is shooting 57 percent from the field. …
