Cespedes Leaves Rehab Game with Quad Tightness

Yoenis Cespedes couldn't make it past two innings in the outfield.

The outfielder left Saturday's Class AA Binghamton game with right quad tightness. It marked his first innings in the outfield since being placed on the disabled list May 14.

Cespedes had been scheduled to play five innings in left field, but the outfielder was removed in the bottom of the third inning. He went 2-for-2.

The veteran has been sidelined due to a right hip flexor strain, and it's unclear at this point how the quad tightness will affect his rehab process.

All signs pointed toward Cespedes returning during the upcoming road trip. He went 0-for-2 as Binghamton's designated hitter in his first rehab game Friday.

A source confirmed that the Mets are considering demoting Michael Conforto when Cespedes returns although the easy move would be the remove Jose Lobaton. …
