Judge's Thumb Is OK, X-Rays Reveal

NEW YORK - Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was in Saturday's lineup, after X-rays on his left thumb "came back clean" according to manager Aaron Boone.

That gives us "a little more peace of mind. It was something that I was concerned with," Boone said, based on Judge's reaction after a first-inning slide in Friday's 4-1 win against the Mets.

Judge grounded out in his first three at-bats on Saturday, before blasting a go-ahead solo shot in the eighth - his 18th homer of the year - in the Yankees' 4-3 comeback Subway Seriers win at Citi Field.

On Friday night, Judge went 0-for-2 but contributed a game-tying sacrifice fly, a play that resulted in Masahiro Tanaka's dual, low-grade hamstring strains - sending the right-hander to the 10-day disabled list.

Following Friday's first inning, Judge applied medical tape to his thumb and got through the game. …
