ST. LOUIS - A KTVI (Channel 2) reporter was apparently intoxicated when he refused employees' orders to leave Busch Stadium on Thursday and then punched and hit police officers who tried to arrest him for trespassing, police say.

Nicholas Thompson, 26, is charged with one count of resisting arrest and three counts of assault in the incident.

Thompson is not reporting or producing for KTVI while the incident is under review, the company said in a statement.

Thompson appeared to be intoxicated when an off-duty uniformed police officer who was working security at the stadium saw him refusing repeated demands from workers to leave and cursing at the workers, according to court documents.

The officer wrote that Thompson eventually left the stadium after the disturbance but remained on Cardinals' property and continued to yell obscenities. …
