ST. LOUIS - The annual Moonlight Ramble cycling event will not be held this year.

Hubbard Radio St. Louis, which owns and operates radio stations 92.3, 101 ESPN, KSHE 95, and 105.7 , obtained the rights to the event from Emmis Communications in May. Emmis Communications previously owned and operated radio stations KSHE 95 and 105.7.

The timing of the merger and Hubbard Radio's acquisition of the event, as well as the increasing costs to organize the event and an increased emphasis on riders' safety, all contributed to the event's cancellation, organizers say.

"This was not a decision that was taken lightly," Hubbard Radio said in a news release. "Our management team understands the rich history this event has in St. Louis, and we hope to bring the Moonlight Ramble back in 2019 as a safer and more enjoyable rider experience. …
