HALIFAX. x-12s. Nova Scotia Power has received approval from the province's regulator for a 133-million-dollar plan to install smart meters throughout the province. The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board says the approval of new meters won't increase power rates because the cost of the program is expected to be offset by savings over its 20-year life. Nova Scotia Power C-E-O Karen Hutt says the meters will give consumers more information.
