LUKE Shaw's situation at United has not changed and he is already working hard to establish himself as the club's first-choice left-back next season, according to a source close to the player.

The 22-year-old has seen Ashley Young take his place for both club and country in the past year-and-a-half and he made just 15 starts last season.

Shaw's rollercoaster relationship with boss Jose Mourinho has come under increased scrutiny in that time and the left-back was humiliated after being hauled off at half-time of United's FA Cup win against Brighton in March.

Even though Shaw has only a year left on his contract at Old Trafford, he remains determined to finally win his manager over once and for all. While back home in Kingston earlier this month, for example, it is understood the left-back was training at the city's F45 facility - exactly six weeks before the United squad fly out for their pre-season tour of the US on July 15. …
