Second Brother, 23, Falls to Gun Violence Victim Shot in Leg Dies 3 Years after Sibling

A 23-year-old man died early Friday after he was shot in the leg in Crafton Heights, about 3½ years after his younger brother also died in a shooting.

Around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Pittsburgh police found De'Von Dozier of Pittsburgh suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside an apartment in the Crafton Heights Townhomes in the 800 block of Woodlow Street.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition and died at 3:35 a.m. Friday, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police believe Dozier was shot nearby and then ran into the apartment, city police spokeswoman Alicia George said.

No arrests had been made, and police would not say whether anyone witnessed the shooting.
