LETHBRIDGE, Alberta. x-16s. It's a long way between prairie ranchland where cattle graze and ocean waters where seaweed blooms. But Canadian scientists are planning to study whether red algae can one day be used as a sustainable livestock feed. Wade Abbott is a research scientist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's lab in Lethbridge, Alberta. He says there would be many benefits to adding seaweed to farm animals' diets.
