WINNIPEG. x-08s. Should a politician's criminal past be discussed inside a legislature or Parliament? One Manitoba politician says it should not. Liberal Judy Klassen recently told the province's legislature that Tory government members should stop bringing up the past of N-D-P Leader Wab Kinew (kih-NOO').

TAG: Kinew was charged with several offences more than a decade ago and was convicted of assault and impaired driving. Kinew has said he is a changed man now. Klassen, who is Indigenous, says by repeatedly harping on Kinew's past, the Tory government is perpetuating a stereotype about aboriginal people.
