WINNIPEG. x-10s. Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister has called a byelection for the St. Boniface seat in Winnipeg on July 17th. The seat was held by the Opposition N-D-P for 18 years until former premier Greg Selinger resigned in March. Liberal Leader Dougald Lamont is among the candidates and is hoping to give his party a fourth legislature seat. Paul Thomas, a political analyst at the University of Manitoba, says a Lamont win would be big.
